How Accare provides information to multiple target groups online
Case
Accare works within youth mental health care and provides specialist help to more than 14,000 children and adolescents every year. A large organization that mainly focuses on communication with the child and the accompanying needs. The realization of a new website for Accare was a nice process and the website contains a number of unique functionalities.
Direct input from the different target groups
Accare has involved the various target groups in the development of the website, both in the initial phase and in the final phase. The needs and wishes were expressed during sounding board sessions, which we as iWink attended. What information should you be able to find directly as a parent? What should the website radiate for a child? Which information is important for a referrer? Thanks to this valuable information, our consultant gave sound advice on the content structure and the designer knew what the design had to meet. Then the developers were able to build the website and developed some nice functionalities:
Transparency in waiting times
If you are looking for help, you would like information about waiting times per location. Accare understands this need and facilitates transparency by showing the average waiting time per location. Furthermore, this page provides additional information when waiting takes too long.
Link with recruitment tool for vacancies
Labor market communication is becoming increasingly important in healthcare and Accare also wanted to tackle this well on the website. By creating a link between the recruitment tool Easycruit and Kirra, vacancies entered are displayed directly on the website. This means that Accare has both the advantages of a working part in its own look & feel and the functionalities of a recruitment tool that is fully aimed at recruiting new colleagues.
Location finder
Accare consists of multiple locations in the Northern and Central Netherlands, which is why findability and accessibility are important. That is why a map has been developed that shows the different locations. A visitor can then enter their own location based on postcode or place name to find the nearest location. To support the latter additionally, the overview shows the distance from the home address to the location.
Child Study Center
Accare is a university center which means that scientific research and training takes place. This comes together in the Child Study Center. An organization that Accare is proud of. This part of the website has a distinctive style and focuses on research, publications and training. It was also the wish to be able to communicate the status of an investigation to participants and interested parties. We have facilitated this in the form of a so-called timeline. This timeline makes it clear what phase the research is in.
